September 2023	Our 10 Year Anniversary! We are officially 10 years old! I almost missed this as it seems strange to say we’re only 10 when I’ve been teaching for so many more years, but I started as a co-principal of the Norma Terry School of Dance when Mrs Terry and I went into partnership together in 2008. When Mrs Terry was ready to retire fully in 2013, I purchased the school and the Vicky Grant School of Dance was officially opened - I can’t believe that is 10 years ago! The school would not be where it is today without my amazing teachers, staff, family and, of course, the wonderful students and their families. Thank you for helping make my lifelong dream come true, and I can’t wait to see where the next 10 years takes us!
August 2023	CDMT Recognised School Award 2023 WE DID IT AGAIN! It's the fifth year in a row that we have been awarded 'Recognised School' status from the Council for Dance, Drama and Musical Theatre (CDMT). CDMT offers quality assurance and membership services to institutions delivering training, education and assessment in the performing arts. A Recognised School is a dance, drama or musical theatre school that is committed to putting the safety of its pupils first and meets set requirements of good professional practice. Thank you to all our staff who help me meet these requirements by being the best at what we do. GO TEAM VG!
July 2023	Musical Theatre classes - New for September 2023 We are so pleased to announce that we are offering Musical Theatre classes from September for children aged 6 years and above! Musical theatre combines music, song, spoken word and dance to tell a story. Students will explore a range of different age-appropriate characters from musicals/films and look at the emotional content. The British Theatre Dance Association programme of study we follow encourages students to gain confidence and skills in order to become a 'triple threat' at the same time as learning and, of course, having lots of fun! Will students take exams? Yes, if they want to, but just like all other styles, although we encourage exams, they are not compulsory. Details of classes starting in September: 6-10 years - Wednesdays 6.15-7.00pm 11+ years - Wednesdays 7.30-8.15pm Two week trial offered before having to enrol for the full term. July 2023	Acro classes - New for September 2023 We are so excited to announce that we are offering Acro classes from September for children aged between 4-11 years! Acro seamlessly combines dance and acrobatics. Students will learn strength and flexibility exercises to prepare them for increased difficulty with gymnastic-based tricks. It teaches flexibility, balance, strength, and coordination and perfectly compliments the other styles of dance we offer. Students will work towards the British Theatre Dance Association Acro Syllabus Examinations, which progresses them through the grades as our other styles do. Classes are with Miss Sophie who has just passed Part 1 of the Acrotrix Qualification - the number 1 Acro Teacher Training course in the UK - well done Miss Sophie! Classes are on Fridays as follows: Beginner/Preparatory Acro - 4.00-4.30pm Primary Acro - 4.30-5.00pm Grade 1 Acro - 5.00-5.45pm For more information or to book your child a place, please contact us today!
January 2022	2022 Summer Dance Schools - Junior/Senior/Magical Musicals Join us for this years summer dance schools! If you're a student at Vicky Grant School of Dance, we invite you to join us at our annual Junior or Senior summer dance schools and our spectacular Magical Musicals summer dance school, which all feature a performance on the last day. Dates Junior Summer Dance School: 25th-29th July Senior Summer Dance School: 1st-5th August Magical Musicals Dance School: 8th-11th August
July 2020	Drive-by celebration for Team VG Students! On the 11th July, to mark what should have been the last day of the Summer term, the Team VG teachers lined their cars up and had a drive-by for the students. Over 200 cars came by and it was such a wonderful afternoon! Read the story published in the Hunts Post here!
December 2019	New website launch! We are proud to launch our new look web site today. We still have plenty of tweaks and additions up our sleeve so, watch this space!
October 2019	CDMT Recognised School Status Achieved! We are excited to announce that we are now officially a Recognised School with the Council for Dance, Drama and Musical Theatre.

Our 10 Year Anniversary!

We are officially 10 years old!
