Terms & conditions must be accepted by all students and parents/guardians. By signing up for the two week trial, and therefore enrolling your child in our classes, you are agreeing to the terms below.
Section 1 – Registration & Fee Payment
-
An enrolment email will be sent following the students’ two-week trial. Within this email is a link to our Customer Portal, you must click on this and update all personal information for you and your child, including at least one phone number in case we need to contact you in an emergency, and any medical needs that we need to know about (which will be kept confidential between the teaching staff that teach your child).
Also within the enrolment email is a link to set up a direct debit with us. If you choose this option, the term fee will be split into monthly payments (spread over the current term) or in full, if you prefer.
-
If you would choose to pay by BACS, the full amount of the invoice is due within a week of enrolment.
-
If you are paying for three or more classes per week, you receive a discount of £1 for every class you are paying for, all discounts will be shown on your invoice. The dates of each “term” are defined on our website here: https://vickygrant.com/term-dates
-
Fees must be received by the dates stated or a 5% surcharge will be added. If fees are still not received one week after this, a 10% surcharge will be added and the student will not be permitted into class until the fees are paid in full, for the whole term, including the surcharge.
-
New students are offered a two-week trial on all classes. Should the student then decide to enrol, fees will be pro rated from the date they started, up to the end of that term. All students are automatically enroled into the next term, unless we are told otherwise by a parent/guardian of the student.
-
There are no refunds if a student is absent from a class.
-
If the regular teacher is unable to teach a class, we will do our best to provide a substitute teacher. If it is not possible to find a substitute, the class will be cancelled, and you will be informed by email and via text message (if an email address and mobile number has been given). In this case a replacement class at the end of term will be held where possible. Refunds are only given if a replacement class cannot be held.
-
In the case of inclement weather, a decision may be made to cancel class one hour prior to your scheduled class time. Parents/Guardians will be informed by email, social media and via text message (if a mobile number has been given). No refunds are given for class cancellations due to weather, natural disasters, global pandemics, or any event beyond our control.
Section 2 - Class Conduct
-
Parents are not permitted to watch classes, except for the first trial lesson of junior classes and scheduled parent/guardian watching weeks, or in exceptional circumstances at the discretion of the class teacher.
-
Students (in Year 4 and below at school), should be escorted to the dance studio door and a parent/guardian should wait with their child until the teacher lets them into the studio. They should then be outside the door to collect once the class has finished. Young students should, under no circumstances, be allowed to come to and from the studio alone. This is part of our safeguarding and welfare practice for our students.
-
Students are expected to demonstrate respectful behaviour towards their teacher and fellow students and will be removed from the class if behaviour is disruptive to other members of the class.
-
Students are not permitted to bring food into the dance studio or chew gum whilst in class. A bottle of water is allowed for classes of 45 minutes or above.
-
Students are responsible for their own property and bring items at their own risk.
-
Students are not permitted to use mobile phones during a class. Any mobile phones brought into the class must be switched off and placed into the basket for the duration of the class.
-
Students are not permitted to leave the studio during a class without permission from the class teacher.
- Students are expected to wear correct uniform/hairstyle to all classes – see www.vickygrant.com/uniform
Section 3 – Responsibilities
-
Parents/Guardians of children under the age of 8 years old must remain on the premises at all times whilst their child is taking a class. If you need to leave the premises, this responsibility must be passed to and accepted by another adult.
-
Please ensure your child has been to the toilet before class. Should your child need the toilet during a lesson, and is in Year 4 or under at school, class assistants will escort them to the toilet and hold the door for them, so they do not need to lock it. If you prefer your child to be brought to you when needing the toilet, please let us know.
-
It is the Parents/Guardians responsibility to inform the school of any changes regarding the student’s medical conditions or emergency contact details. These should be updated via your Customer Portal link and emailed to missvicky@vickygrant.com.
Section 5 – Miscellaneous
-
The school timetable may be revised at any time, any changes affecting your child will be communicated with you.
-
Students may be invited for external examination or performance awards by their teacher, when they are ready. The readiness of students for examinations and tests is assessed jointly by the class teacher and the Principal and decisions made by them are final. Students can progress in all dance styles without examination. Please note that not all students may be ready for examination at the same time, but we will not hold up those that are.
-
A certain amount of risk is involved by taking part in any physical activity. Students taking part in any classes or events run by the Vicky Grant School of Dance do so at their own risk.
-
Photographs and videos of students may be taken and used for promotion and on social media by the Vicky Grant School of Dance. If you do not give permission for your child's photo to be taken, please email Vicky Grant on missvicky@vickygrant.com to make her aware of this.
